Which ideology?

Why is that people would ideologically choose among various political parties if these people are considered rational. What am I saying? People have achieved different levels of success; have different lifestyles, but why is  it that people who consider themselves rational would not be indifferent among political parties with distinct political ideologies. Consider party A and B. The demography of the respective parties would almost be the same. So we wouldn't attribute the differing political position to different lifestyle or social achievement. But why do people differ on ideology. If they are given two options A and B. Why not choose all of them? That is, just find fault in the options offered. But people want to give themselves the satisfaction of having made a choice. This kind of behavior has enabled people to be fooled by cheap ideologies which aren't concrete and beneficial to people in offering answers to their questions on various aspects of life such as fairness, civility, human rights. What I am saying is that instead of people self-constructing an ideology which they find humanly rational, they choose among choices given to them which are not optimal at all. This is interesting because after a long time of such events occurring, people become inherently biased in their outlook.

 Having people's hearts and minds is a tactic some choose to follow in an effort to manipulate people in the long run. Not so long ago people, under extreme force and pressure, would be forced to follow ideologies alien to them. We have noticed this during the periods of colonialism and slavery. Most of the people who practiced this did so in order to control other people's resources. The desire to control other people's resources never died down but 'smart' ways were devised to control other people. This time controlling one's mind has become the norm. Hence it is important in today's world for people to be rigorous in how they make their choices and decisions. Formulating a rational; ideology and not selecting it from an array of choices are important if one is not to be made a 'slave' stealthily in this age. I find people finding this too hard to stomach but this is the reality of this world. The world is becoming 'smarter hence we all be act 'smarter' in a real sense.

 The problem in today's world is that everyone thinks they are clever an they don't try to improve their knowhow everyday. People are more concerned in being socially 'intelligent'. That's good but that doesn't make you independent and clever in a real sense. All the swag will die with you when you perish. But real and strategic thinking which tries to answer life's important questions is important for the sustainable survival of our people for many more years to come. With all the evidence for climate change you certain 'smart' people denying the climate change issue altogether. This is as a result of people following certain unsound ideologies blindly. People can be misled quite easily these days.
