Factionalism haunts ZANU PF

Factionalism is crippling ZANU PF to the core. The recent chaos in the District Coodinating Committee (DCC) polls and the eventual disbandment of the DCCs is evident that all is not right in the great liberation movement. What has has happened to ZANU PF? It's a difficult question, but I think it's inability to change with time and it's failure to properly counter reactionary forces is part of the answer. By changing with time I mean that it is failing to align with people's changing expectations or convincing people to align with it's vision for Zimbabwe. Of late, reactionary forces have been engaged in some sort of cold war against african political parties with a pan-africanist agenda. ZANU PF has fallen victim to such kind of neocolonial tactic. It has found difficulties in countering these sinister manouvres and the Wikileaks saga exposed how some senior ZANU PF officials have parted ways with the ideologies with have mobilised the masses against oppression.

What's needed is innovative ideologies which captivate the hearts and minds of the masses and also which informs them that our struggle is a continous one. In 2002, ZANU PF triumphed, inspired by sound ideologies spearheaded by Professor Jonathan Moyo et al. What should stop it now. Our current generation should be inspired by the victorious fights on and off the field by Cde Mugabe et al. Then strong ideology played a huge role, therefore, today a stronger ideology is needed to ensure a dorminant ZANU PF for the next fifty or so years.
