Mitt Romney made more serious gaffes I didn't mention in my previous post. He implied that the economic differences between Israel and Palestine had to do with "culture". What, that's absurd and racist.
Come-on, this guy is out of touch with reality. How couldn't Israel not develop when it is the largest receipient of US aid the world over and Palestine is more like a prison, with countless checkpoints, and the Gaza Strip is under a blockade enforced by Israel and Egypt. Surely these conditions result in different economic situations. Therefore the culture thing is an "invention" by Zionists.
While in Israel, he also exposed the US as an unfair peace broker between Israel and Palestine by declaring Jerusalem as the undisputed capital of Israel, a policy tolerated by the Obama adminstration. If he's (Romney) elected President, we can expect such a policy to continue.
Back in London, when he criticized the city's unpreparedness to host the games, the British Prime Minister's response was funny and precise. He said it was far more difficult to organise the Olympics in a world capital than in the "middle of nowhere," referring to Salt Lake City, the city which hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics, in which Romney was the head of the organising committee. My verdict is that his gaffe-prone international tour was a disaster.
