Obama in the Middle-East

Obama had a recent visit to the Middle-East, visiting Israel, Palestine and Jordan. According to analyst his visit wasn't to offer any advice but to listen to the actors in this area. Obama is in an untenable position because as time passes by the envisioned peace plan in the Middle-East is going to remain a pipe dream. It will become impossible to implement the so-called two-state peace plan between Israel and Palestine. This is because among other things, the continual settlement constructions will make the drafting of a future Palestinian State difficult, and also the increasing tensions and hatred between the politicians of these countries and the shifting of the Israeli political landscape in favor of the right will make peace something you just have to dream about. Anyway as expected, Obama chose to side more with the Zionist State, therefore like most fair-minded analysts on the issue think, the United States is not qualified to be the main arbiter between Israel and the Palestinians because every time the US has made it clear that they are on Israel's side.

Anyway this is quite a long and complex discussion which isn't finished by just one blog post but it's just clear that if any real progress has to take effect, the US must take a bold step to force Israel to be realistic on this issue of peace.
