Zimbabwe
is recently underwent a census exercise. The last one was done in 2002; hence
here it’s done after ten years. I hope some day it’s done after every five
years because the data obtain is important. It aids the government in its
national planning on issues such as development. This also includes town
planning, resource distribution and the effects of epidemics such as HIV/AIDS.
I
am particularly excited because the census will expose the effects of the
economic turmoil Zimbabwe has experienced over the past decade. Migration
patterns, be it internal and external; family sizes, mortality and all the
demographics will be there to explain how our population was affected by our
past economic troubles.
Therefore
I hope the census exercise progressed well.
