The South African Police...... Why massacre the miners?

The massacre by the South African Police on miners at a mine owned by Lonmin at the Mariakana area which is close to Rustenburg is despicable. With so many years after Apartheid how can the South African Police behave in such a manner? Check this Wikipedia article on the developments on the situation as time progresses.
