Poor news reporting.
I'm just quite perplexed by the kind of reporting by news organizations. Markets in Nikkei 225 (-2.78%), Hang Seng (-2.61%) etc closed down with a wide margin. The misleading analysis by these news guys is that 'investors are worried about Hollande's victory and Greek election results' but this is not the complete correct picture. The markets mainly were transmitting the disappointing Wall Street results (Dow -1.27%) of the past week which were the worst this year mainly as a result of a string of weak U.S. economic data, including Friday's weak payrolls report, and the earnings season winding down. But all this is ignored by the news guys. As I'm writing this post, the French CAC 40 is actually up by 0.17%. So much of Hollande blues.
